Rev. Fr. Moses Orshio Adasu University Postgraduate Admission Requirements

The Rev. Fr. Moses Orshio Adasu University postgraduate admission requirements are divided into general O’Level conditions and programme-level academic requirements.

Applicants should not assume that meeting the general Master’s or PhD requirement automatically guarantees eligibility for every programme. Several departments have additional academic, subject, professional or screening conditions.

General O’Level Requirements

Applicants must first satisfy the relevant O’Level requirements for admission into a first-degree programme of the university.

The general conditions stated in the postgraduate advertisement include:

  • A credit in English Language and Mathematics is required for all courses.
  • Psychology requires at least a pass in Biology or Health Sciences.
  • O’Level Literature credit is required for programmes in English, Languages & Linguistics, Theatre Arts and Law.
  • A pass in Literature is required for Language Education.
  • O’Level Economics credit is required for Management Science courses and Economics.
  • IJMB O’Level credit passes in Mathematics and English may be accepted in place of the corresponding SSC or GCE O’Level requirements stated by the university.
  • NCE English major may be accepted in place of O’Level Literature.
  • NCE Use of English may be accepted in place of an SSC or GCE O’Level English credit.
  • Where applicable, A-Level passes supersede O’Level passes.

Applicants should therefore check the requirements attached specifically to their intended course rather than relying only on a general postgraduate qualification.

Who Can Apply for Rev. Fr. Moses Orshio Adasu University Postgraduate Programmes?

The range of Rev. Fr. Moses Orshio Adasu University postgraduate courses means there are entry routes for applicants with different academic backgrounds.

A Bachelor’s degree holder may be eligible for a Master’s programme if the degree is relevant and the applicant meets the required classification and CGPA.

A Third-Class degree holder may find a suitable route through selected PGD programmes, depending on the programme’s specific requirements.

HND holders may also qualify for certain PGD programmes and selected Master’s routes where the department expressly permits such entry.
